Bedivere Eatery & Tavern a Very Popular Place in Hamra

3 years ago, Bedivere, an eatery and Tavern in Hamra made headlines locally and internationally when they introduced a cool concept of getting a 10% discount if you don't use your phone during a meal so that people socialize and connect with each other. Ellen Degeners, LBCI, FOX News, CNN and many more talked about it. We recently decided to visit it after hearing lots of compliments concerning their delicious food and beautiful ambiance.
We started with the Brooklyn Steak Salad was exceptional. It contained marinated grilled tenderloin steak slices, goat cheese, fresh mushrooms, red onions and cherry tomatoes on a bed of iceberg lettuce and rocket leaves. It was served with an impressive secret house-made sauce. The steak slices were extremely tender and succulent, the sauce was amazing and all the ingredients were very fresh. We loved the combinations and flavors in this great salad.
As main platters we had the Tavern Burger and the Mexican Chicken Sandwich.
•The Tavern Burger was spectacular! We loved the idea of the tender marinated beef tenderloin cuts instead of the usual patty because they made the burger very juicy and delicious. It contained avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and HP sauce & mayonnaise. It was kind of an explosion of tastes with every bite. It was served with a delicious cup of coleslaw salad and crunchy fries.
•The Mexican Chicken Sandwich consisted of a baguette filled with marinated grilled chicken breast topped with cheddar cheese, house-made tortilla chips, guacamole, salsa and sour cream. We were not big fans of this sandwich; the chicken slices were very tender but they had a taste of smoke that was not very pleasant. We would have also preferred of there was no salsa sauce since it covered the flavors of the other sauces. The sandwich was served with fresh green salad and crispy, non-oily fries.
For dessert we had the Pain Perdu that comes in a portion for 2. It was good; very moist and the caramel sauce was very generous and tasty. The vanilla ice cream made it even juicier. We would have preferred if it was not flavored as they used cinnamon. But that didn't stop us from enjoying it.
We loved the casual ambiance at Bevidere. The tasty food, the good quality and the smiling waitress that will surely make us come back again. Board games lovers it is the place for you as they offer a variety of games so you won't have to use your phone and end up having some quality time.
