A Night to Remember at Joanna's Table in Sursock Museum

Whenever we think there are no more new restaurants in Beirut to talk about we turn out to be wrong as we recently discovered a hidden gem at Sursock Museum in Ashrafieh. Joanna’s Table restaurant is a unique restaurant as it is located next the alluring palace. It opened it’s doors last month for everyone who wants to enjoy a special dining experience. The restaurant has a charming exterior setting with the mesmerizing illuminated castle always in the background. You should definitely try it before the storm. There is also a simplistic cozy interior. The menu is very varied with salads, appetizers, sandwiches, main platters, and desserts. There are many items for vegetarian lovers. The place is regularly booked so we advise you to reserve before to avoid any disappointment.
• We started with the Peanut and Noodle Salad. It contained rice noodles, cucumber, carrot, peanut and mint with peanut sauce. We took it with chicken. The mixture was perfect, the chicken were very well seasoned and the sauce was amazing. We would have loved if it had more sauce but that's not a big deal as you can ask for more.

• The seared beef salad was divine. It consisted of thinly sliced seared beef fillet with seasonal greens and you get to choose between the pomegranate or the Asian sauce. The waitress advised us to go for the pomegranate sauce. It was delicious but we will also try the Asian one next time. The beef used was premium quality; very tender and tasty.

We also tried 2 sandwiches:

• The Crispy Roast Beef was finger licking good. It had roasted fillet with seasonal greens, caramelized onions, mushrooms and thyme-tomato confit. The bread was very crispy, the beef like we said was of a great quality. All in all the mixture was perfect. We simply loved it.
• The Msakhan Chicken Wrap was succulent! It consisted of a markouk wrap filled with pulled chicken breast, onions, sour pomegranate molasses and sumac. The chicken came in extremely thin and juicy slices. The pomegranate and sumac gave it an exceptional sour taste. The sauce that accompanied the wraps was so yummy. This sandwich is a must try.
This lovely dinner couldn't end without desserts. We ordered one Moist Chocolate Cake and one Chocolat Mou.

The Moist Chocolate Cake was orgasmic! It was so fluffy and moist to a point we finished it in 10 seconds. The vanilla ice cream made it even more delicious.
The Chocolat Mou is the least sophisticated dessert as it contains ice cream and whipped cream yet Joanna's Table made it one of a kind by adding crunchy corn flakes and by using creamy ice cream and roasted nuts. We loved it.

Joanna's table gave us a memorable night as I always wanted to spend a night at a museum. You will definitely feel like you are a tourist while dining at this unique place.
